Persona What?!? Atlus Has Lost Their Minds

After what seems like months since Atlus set up their teaser website to announce something related the beloved Persona series an announcement was finally made, and folks it’s a doozy.

First up the worst kept secret in gaming was revealed; Persona 5. The game is coming in Winter 2014 in Japan with no US release mentioned. But the biggest thing about this announcement is there after cock teasing us for FIVE FUCKING YEARS there was no footage shown. NONE! There was an odd teaser showing chairs with handcuffs on the legs and a bunch of text. Yay? But wait! There were surprises announced as well! More Persona is a good thing right? Not necessarily my friends.

First up the follow up to the excellent Persona 4 Arena (Review here!) was announced. Persona 4: The Ultimax Ultra Suplex Hold is due Fall 2014 and I’m sure that name will not make it over here. Can you say Ultra Persona 4 Arena?

Then in a total shocker the first Persona RPG not available on a Sony system has been revealed. Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth is exclusive to 3DS (DAMN IT!!! Now I have to buy one!) and features the cast of Persona 3 and 4. Is this the continuation of Persona 4 Arena? No details on this have been revealed yet.

And finally the most depressing announcement yet! Everyone remember Persona 4 Golden (Review here!)? Remember how it did pretty well on the Vita and everybody loved it? Well, in a move destined to stump the world for decades Atlus has announced Persona: Dancing All Night. Yes, you read that right. The Vita Persona game if a fucking dancing game from the fools that make the Hatsune Miku games. Nice way to shit all over your fan base that supported you by buying a four year old game on their shiny new system. And one has to wonder why Atlus almost went under.

At first I was kinda sad that Sega bought Atlus, but after seeing all this nonsense, they are perfect for each other.

Thanks to VG 24/7 for translating the announcements, you can check out their article here!
